Ductility of Light Steel Frame Structures in filled to Light Weight Concrete Materials
This paper is carried out to determine the feasibility of the use of load bearing wall made of light weight concrete, LWC, and cold formed steel, CFS, under earthquake loads. The study uses finite element method where the finite element model for the composite wall are developed using ABAQUS. Using the cold-formed steel structures, CFS, has some advantages such as speed of construction, high seismic resistance, high temperature isolation and high voice resistance. Application of light weight concrete, LWC, in the walls of CFS has proved some benefits for user and improves the performance of structures. Current study evaluates the stiffness and lateral strength of the CFS structures subjected to LWC as infill materials. The finite element method was considered for push-over analysis in this paper. The analytical examine variable was strength of concrete.. The lateral strength and drift of all analytical models were indicated a substantial improvement. In the other words, using the LWC was caused increasing the strength, Ductility of CFS buildings. Key Words: Ductility; Light Weight Concrete (Lwc); Infilled Walls; Cold-Formed Steel.
Revolutionary Testing using Extreme Programming to develop ERP Software in Pakistan
In Pakistan, Evaluation of ERP software projects facing product and project risks due to its beginnings. All these risks must be nipped in the bud, before these risks became the hurdle for software success. Better testing and implementation of ERP software need Planning for identifying risks and testing activities. In this research paper a revolutionary testing technique in collaboration with XP was introduced for the evaluation of ERP software. The XP identified different ERP software risks arise in requirement phases by involving customer and testing technique tackled with these risks. This revolutionary testing technique involved (TDD), (ATDD), (TFD), (TLD), (BDD), Pair Programming and gray box testing. Resultantly a Revolutionized XP Software model RXP was developed with better testing solutions for the successful development of ERP software in Pakistan. To get a larger nationwide view on the RXP (across Pakistan), a survey was conducted through a questionnaire and the results were analyzed to show whether the provided solution meets the organization goals. Key Words: Enterprise Resource planning (ERP), Test Driven Development (TDD), Acceptance Test Driven Development, Test First Driven (TFD), Test last Driven (TLD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Revolutionized Extreme Programming (RXP).
The Design Elements and Building Techniques at the Traditional Jordanian Dwellings
This paper sheds light on vernacular and traditional architectural in Jordan, especially the residential traditional building. They are characterized by simplicity in the construction techniques and their relevance to the location and climate. Jordan has witnessed several civilizations during the time, as a result, there are various archaeological sites that proof the human settlement on its land. Each period of time left its impact on the building style, as a result, the vernacular and traditional architecture were found. So, the key role of the paper is to study the typical design elements, which were used in the vernacular architecture to satisfy the occupants needs. The other objective of the paper is to study the material and traditional building techniques that were used in the traditional buildings. Also, it classifies the traditional residential building into rural and urban building based on the time of emerging. The research methodology will base on the descriptive methods and on the secondary data of the traditional architecture. The result shows that the traditional residential building in Jordan can be classified into two main types are, fallhi house and urban house. Fallahi house contains the houses that constructed in the villages, where the urban houses contain the houses that constructed in the cities. Fallahi house contains several types are; Al-Qanater Houses and Al-Mastabeh houses. The urban houses contain the courtyard houses, three-bay houses and the gallery houses. Key Words: Contemporary Architecture, Elements of Popular Design, Traditional Architecture, Vernacular Architecture.
